The District Hospital of Koslanda was built long time ago in the 1930’s when the British ruled Sri Lanka.
Koslanda is located on the Bandarawela and Hambantota road. Its climate is salubrious, as it is neither hot as it is in Hambantota, nor is it cold as in Bandarawella. Therefore, it was the perfect location to build a hospital.
The land on which the Hospital was built was a rubber estate that the British cut down and built the Hospital on.
The exact structure built by the British stands today and is a spacious well maintained hospital.
